 Register your group for OAFC Summer Training this Summer, July 22-27th, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Seward, NE. Registrations will be accepted through May 1st. Late registrants will not be guaranteed housing or T-Shirt.  Here's a look at this Summer's Training T-shirts OAFC Board Meeting Highlights Our Board met this January via video-conference to plan how best to serve our local groups in the coming year. Keynote: For the 2016 Summer Training, we confirmed Jennifer Krupp, longtime OAFC member and current resident of Ferguson, MO, to be our Keynote Speaker on Mercy and Witness in Ferguson following the riots that took place there recently. She will speak on Monday July 25th at 10:30am at St. John's in Seward. Training Schedule: The Board has put together a schedule to better fit our Training purposes. We'll start by serving the Conference Site congregation with a massive weekend and then spend all day Sunday at the hosting churches, worshiping with them, presenting OAFC to them, training them and canvassing with them on Sunday. This way we'll hopefully be able to get more church involvement. Video Collage: This Summer we'd like to try something different. Rather than doing the big group photos, we'd like to try to get a short video clip of all our Ambassadors sharing what they got out of OAFC and Summer Training. We'll put it together and hopefully show it during the closing Happening and make it available for everyone to share back home. Budget: Having received $39,566 of support in 2015, the Board worked through things like Summer Training Promotions and Expenses, Group Resupplying, Public Relations, and the Executive Director's Salary, and came up with a fairly modest Budget of $28,523. Here's a brief outline. OAFC Approved Budget for 2016: Summer Training $6,000 Ex. Dir. Salary $13,440 Publicity/Conferences $2,000 Promotion $1,000 Local Group Promo $2,000 Board Meeting $100 Automobile Upkeep $600 Insurance $2100 Bank Service Charge $10 Office Supplies $500 Professional Fees $10 Website $469 Crier/Emails $294 Total $28,523 | Board Nominations We are currently seeking nominations for folks to serve on OAFC's Board. This year, those needed are: Adult Male, Adult Female, College, Youth Male, Youth Female. If you or someone you know would be able to support OAFC in this way, please submit your nominations to Pastor Tassey and he'll pass them along to our Nominations Committee - Jennifer Krupp, Devin Brammeier, and Aaron Fosse.  Travel Team Nominations We're sending a Travel Team to the National Youth Gathering to run an outreach Academy and man the OAFC exhibit. We are in need of 3 girls and 3 boys. I'd like to have the team selected by April 1st. Please submit recommendations to Pastor Tassey. There is also some interest in sending a Travel Team out after Training. There is some concern this may be too late in the Summer. So, if you are able and willing to serve on a Travel Team to go out 10 days after July 27th, please contact me ASAP so we can get this planning. Prayer Requests
 Board Highlights, Continued The Board also decided on a Theme and Logo to begin planning the 2017 Summer Training. As this is the banner year for Lutherans as the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, we chose a very Reformation Theme and Logo: ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN We plan to announce the date and location for the 2017 Training at St. John's this Summer.
