Members Present: Dan Barz – Assistant to the Executive Director, Pastor David Loeschen -- Chairman, Katie Jeppesen – Secretary, Debbie McBee, Matthew Tassey, Noah Elmshaeuser, Paul Mueller, Melissa Shore, Mallory Hicks
Absent: Pastor Ruhlig, Pastor Dan Smith – Interim Executive Director, Nathan Ruppert, Pastor Paul Becker
Chairman Rev. David Loeschen called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. CST. The meeting was opened with a prayer.
New Business
Before the meeting the board members were able to review a copy of the grant proposal sent to them via email. Any concerns or ideas were sent to Pastor Dan Smith or Dan Barz. Pastor Dan Smith has been working on this proposal with a Thrivent representative in his area of Illinois. Ed Allen has also been helping with this project after his experience applying for a grant for Summer Training 2004.This grant program is for non-budget items, something special like a spring break trip. This proposal will make it possible for college students to reach areas they could not reach normally due to the distance for traveling in a van.
Matthew Tassey moved that the Board of Directors approve the submission of a grant proposal to the Lutheran Grant Program of Thrivent, with this grant being used to fund an Arizona spring break trip in 2007. Paul Mueller seconded the motion. The motion carried with a unanimous vote.
Dan Barz encouraged the board members to register for the New Years events. The final date to register for the New Years even in Riverton, WY is quickly approaching.
Debbie McBee moved that the meeting be adjourned. Noah Elmshaeuser seconded the motion which carried. Following a closing prayer, the meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m. CST.
