Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ Members Present: Rev. Dan Smith – Chairman, Dan Barz – Assistant to the Executive Director, Pastor Erwin Ruhlig – Treasurer, Katie Jeppesen–Secretary, Ben Venticher, Debbie McBee, Rev. David Loeschen, Nathan Ruppert, Melissa Shore, Sarah Grewe, Jonathan Drefs The Chairman, Rev. Dan Smith, called the meeting to
order at 8:01 p.m. CST NEW BUSINESS The financial records show that OAFC cannot afford a full-time Executive Director. OAFC is looking for someone to serve part-time while receiving a stipend like Pastor Tom Moyer did for the past year. The most OAFC has available for that stipend is $4800 dollars. Pastor Erwin Ruhlig developed a list of pastor’s within OAFC who are eligible for a call to the position of Executive Director. Micah Wildauer’s name was also put on the list, though he will not be eligible until he graduates from seminary in the spring of 2006. (see attached list) This call for Executive would be a second call that would not require a pastor to be released from his other call and it would last until the pastor resigned his position as Executive Director. The idea of having an interim director was brought up. Pastor David Bueltmann served as an interim director for 3 years before Pastor Erwin Ruhlig served as Executive Director. He was a full-time pastor and a full-time camp director at the same time. He worked 1-2 hours for OAFC a week. Board members discussed what the first step for this call process would be. It was suggested that a letter should be sent to each of the pastors on the list asking if they would be willing to serve as Executive Director. After some discussion it was decided letters should be sent, but not asking for permission to extend a call, rather letting them know we are looking to extend a call to someone. If they feel they are unable to receive such a call, they can inform OAFC of such a situation. Pastor Erwin Ruhlig felt that the Board of Directors should pick the top 3 candidates from the list. It was asked whether the Executive Director needed to live near Athens, IL. Dan Barz felt that the conveniences of phone and e-mail make it possible for the Executive Director to live anywhere. Ben made a motion that Dan Barz and Pastor Dan Smith create a letter together to send to potential candidates to inform them that they are eligible for a call to the part-time position of Executive Director for OAFC. Melissa Shore seconded the motion. Motion carried. Nathan Ruppert made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Katie Jeppesen seconded the motion. Motion carried. Debbie McBee concluded the meeting with a prayer. The meeting was adjourned at 8:48 p.m CST.
