An Alumni's Story
Pete Duncanson and Family

Pete, his wife and four sons are now active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis.
Pete Duncanson and his family
Pete grew up in Caro, MI and served as an Ambassador in the Thumb area from September 1978 through August 1982. He attended Concordia University in River Forest that fall and lived in Chicago for 13 years before moving to Memphis. He is also the head the Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs for the church/school and is looking forward to teaching them some of the OAFC skits that made a big impression on him as a youth.

Pete says:
The experiences I had as part of this team have left a very big impression on my life. I now have four sons (7,10,14,15) and am an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis. I also head the Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs for the church/school.
I was excited to find your web site today. I have often wondered about those I served with. Have you considered hosting an alumni page? The thoughts that are racing through my head are a mixture of joy, loss, excitement, and wonder.
If I could pass a message to those youth who are today serving, it would be:

Pray ... for guidance, strength and joy. You will deliver all three.
Do not worry about the words you don't know use the ones you do know and
God will open the hearts and minds of those who hear you.

I spent last night remembering events and places spent with OAFC. My oldest son will be at the national gathering this summer, after he spends 6 weeks as a camp counselor for Boy Scouts.
I will forward your message to our DCE and pastors to see if we could host the group one night. I will keep an eye on the web page for updates and advancements.
I have also attached a picture of my family from Christmas. My third son is a St. Jude patient and was home for the first time in 5 weeks for Christmas, what a gift!!! He is the one in front with no hair.
Do you or anyone have a copy of the skit Bus stop? I recompiled it years ago with a friend over the phone and lost it again. He passed away 6 years ago and I can't remember all of it. We are doing an evangelism workshop this spring and it would fit perfectly.
Thanks again for your note and for the work you are doing to keep youth active in ministry.
May the Joy of Easter be with you and your family. Pete
