Ongoing Ambassadors For Christ was founded in 1970 by Rev. Fred Darkow and has been active in evangelism ministry since that time.
OAFC is a national ministry with active leadership groups in:
Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin. OAFC does not operate out of any home congregation, nor does it have any permanent structure of its own. OAFC is able to do what it does because of the love and dedication of its many volunteer leaders, under the guidance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The ministry of OAFC operates entirely from the offerings, gifts and memorials from our Ambassador Circle of friends and the church's they serve and train.

Many people do no know the way to heaven. For this reason, OAFC is specifically Christ-centered, so that in everything it does the one way to heaven is clear. OAFC is a disciplined ministry and encourages youth to live Christ-centered lives.

OAFC helps combat the confirmation dropout problem by challenging youth to be the church now, by giving them the  opportunity to do the most important work in the church, spreading the Gospel  of Jesus Christ. They are involved in worthwhile work.

About Ongoing Ambassadors For Christ
" For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16,17 NKJV
Congregations of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod host an ongoing ambassadors for Christ group for an Outreach Weekend. Weekends run from 7PM Friday evening through noon on Sunday. Ambassadors are housed and fed by members of the hosting congregation. Congregations usually have a suggested pot luck meal on Sunday following Divine worship services.
In return OAFC trains youth and adults in three basic witnessing methods which are easy to remember and simple to use. They provide fellowship with other Lutheran youth from around the area. OAFC trains in and  utilizes six methods of witnessing - singing, puppets, Bible study, drama, door to door canvassing and personal witness.
They visit a local nursing home, participate in Sunday school, Bible class and Divine worship services as allowed by the congregation. They also report on the results of the door to door canvass of the local neighborhood. OAFC helps congregation members grow in their faith.
Monthly Outreach Weekends
Summer Training
Annually OAFC holds a week long Summer Training event somewhere in our national area usually in the month of July. Commissioned Ambassadors work with their teams during the week as they bond, renew friendships, study God's Word, listen to guest speakers, attend workshops, learn to hone their witnessing methods, learn guitar, all while being hosted by an area local congregation which they serve and witness for.
New Years Gathering

Each year OAFC hosts a regional New Years gatherings which normally run from Dec. 29th through New Years day. Ambassadors are assigned to teams, study God's Word, share their faith in Jesus in the community for local congregations, enjoy friendships and celebrate with other Lutherans as the old year passes away and the New Year is embraced as they look forward to witnessing of Jesus love and forgiveness in the year  ahead.
Summer Training Travel Team

Following Summer Training each year, Travel Team members go on the road making stops at LCMS congregations in an assigned area, training them in witnessing techniques and informing them about Jesus' love and forgiveness and the benefits of the OAFC ministry. Travel teams make one night stops during the week with a regular weekend scheduled for the weekend.
Spring Break Travel Team
During Spring Break, college age ambassasdors go on the road making stops at selected LCMS congregations in a certain geographical area of the continental U.S. This team trains youth and adults in witnessing techniques and shares the Good News of Jesus' suffering, death and resurrection door to door in the communities of  those hosting churches.
"A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher."    Luke 6:40 NKJV
