Dear Ambassadors,

We are thankful for the number of Michigan Ambassadors who were able to be part of Summer Training and Travel Teams. Pastor John Dreyer of Concordia Seminary joined us during the week as he also led workshops and spoke at our closing happening.

August brings 2 chances to serve. First, as has been planned for some time we will be assisting Salem Lutheran Church at the annual Coloma, Michigan Peach Festival - August 1-3. All who are able are invited to join in assisting with the Life High the Cross hot air balloon launches on Friday evening August 1 along with early Saturday morning and finally on Saturday evening. There is also the chance to join the parade on Saturday afternoon and assist the people of Salem with their booth.

And we will have an August Outreach Weekend which has been moved back a week to August 22-24. The details are:

Interesting Math – How would you like to give $40 to OAFC for just $10? You might think, “No way!” But this is how it works. Any Ambassador who has attended a couple weekends this year has 25 or more hours volunteered (and you might have reached it in one weekend). Thrivent Financial for Lutheran will match any gift its 16 year old or older members make to OAFC with $1 for every $2 given = $5. And they will give $25 bonus for anyone who has volunteered 25 or more hours = $25. $10 + $5 + $25 = $40. Contact me if you have questions.
